Section 504, Age Discrimination Act and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center has adopted an internal grievance procedure providing for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by the US Department of Health and Human Services regulations (45 C.F.R. Part 84) implementing section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 USC 794). Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended (29 USC 794). Section 504 states in part, that no otherwise qualified handicapped individual shall, solely by reason of his handicap, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of or be subjected to discrimination under any program or may be examined in the office of the Administrator of the Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, who has been designated to coordinate the efforts of the Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center to comply with the regulations in accordance with the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 USC $200 et seq), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 USC $794) and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 , as amended (42 USC $6101 et seq), Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, political beliefs, sex, age, marital status, physical disability, mental retardation or past/present history of mental disorder in admission or access to, treatment or employment in its programs or activities. The Administration of this facility has been designated to coordinate our efforts to comply with the US Department of Health and Human Services regulations (45 CFR Parts 80, 84, and 91) implementing these federal laws.
