In the News: New Haven Register – Area People of Note

Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care honored its 18 residents and staff members, who are veterans, with boutonnières that were donated by Devine Orchid located at 3652 Whitney Avenue, Hamden. The event was held on Veterans Day. Among those being honored include: Ralph Blankenship, U.S. Army; James Bross, Army Reserves; Valentino DiGioia, U.S. Navy; Lester Fresolone, U.S. Army; Vincent Lewis, U.S. Army Paratrooper; Robert Linley U.S. Navy; Ernie Marchitto, US Army-Korea; Thomas O’Connor, U.S. Army-Vietnam; Ronald Parker, U.S. Navy Submarine; Jon “Larry” Savoy, U.S. Army Vietnam; Scott Bernard, U.S. Army; Joan Mest, US Woman’s Army, WWII, Germany, Nurse, RN; Anthony Sockolosky, US Air Force; Reggie Wilson, U.S. Air Force-Army, Barry O’Keefe, U.S. Air Force; Robert Angus, U.S. Army – Iraq & Afghanistan; Dave DeMayo, U.S. Marines, Diana Brassell, U.S. Army. Invitations for event were hand-crafted by Diana Brassell, a Recreation Department staff member at Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care and a U.S. Army veteran.
